Special Witnessing Encounters

At the West Deer booth, I witnessed to a woman that I normally would not witness to. She had me share the gospel with her. After I shared the gospel with her I asked her what would keep her from repenting and trusting in Jesus. She told me that she needed to clean herself up first and then she would trust Jesus. I explained to her that is not how it works. She needs to come to Christ and he will clean her up. I have her tons of materials and she read all of them. It was the best witness encounter of the weekend. I had a booth at West Deer for 2 days and I shared the gospel with tons of people.

At the Evans City Pumpkin Festival, I had a great conversation with a young lady in a red dress. I do not have a picture of her like I do not have one displayed for the first story but after I shared the gospel and told her that she needed to read her Bible she asked me where would I start. She almost sounded desperate. I told her to read Romans and then start reading the Bible from the beginning. I walked her through the basic story of the Old Testament so that she knew what to expect. She was like Wow I did not know all of that was in the Bible. I explained the Covenant of works and the covenant of Grace. I walked her through how more details of the covenant were revealed as the Old Testament went on. Please pray for the young lady in the red dress.

I talked to a Jewish Pitt student. I walked her through the law and she said she did not believe in heaven or hell. I quoted Daniel 12:2 to her and told her that her scripture does. I asked how she thought people could get to heaven and she said she had to pay the fine. I explained that Abram cut the animals in half to make the covenant and then God put him asleep and God went between the halves to make the covenant. So we broke the law and broke the covenant but since God was the one that went between the animals it was him who had to die and God did that in the person of Jesus Christ. Her eyes got big and she asked tons of questions about how to apply that to her life. I did not get her name but pray for that Pitt Student.

I told her that not all Israel is Israel and she said yes. I told her that she needed to have a circumcised heart. She looked at me and repeated her circumcised heart. She said I have never heard this. It was such a great conversation.
Today was amazing. I changed the way I ended the conversation and I felt like I had 10 people that would have prayed the prayer if I had offered. I walked people through the law and showed them they were liars, and thieves, who had lusted and hated making them adulterers and murderers. I explained that Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross, and took the full wrath of God for nothing he did. Jesus rose from the grave proving he was God and could pay their fine.
I told them that they will stand before the judgment seat and either rely on their goodness which they have already seen does not exist or they will trust in the goodness of Jesus. His payment on the cross and Jesus’s perfect life applied to them. Which one will you rely on? About 10 people told me they would rely on Jesus. When I asked them what was stopping them from trusting Jesus and repenting they said nothing.  I had people stand there and stare at me for a bit while neither of us said anything and they thought about their answers to these last questions.

There were so many good conversations at IUP.  I have been using the Optical Illusion tracts this month to get into conversation after conversation. I just recently bought a ton more of those tracts. I could not be more grateful to God for getting into so many good discussions about the gospel.
