Mary tells us:
ECU’s Spring semester began on January 13, 2025. This month, because of my travels, one of my students led two Bible studies, and we met via Zoom for the rest of the month.
We have been going over 1 John on Tuesday nights, which will continue into February. On Thursday nights, we continue our apologetics class as we study how to share the gospel with our Hebrew brothers and sisters and how to stand against the lies of Darwinism.
My newsletter is short this month, but I will leave you with Charles Spurgeon’s words.
“We are not called to proclaim philosophy and metaphysics, but the simple gospel. Man’s fall, his need for a new birth, forgiveness through atonement, and salvation as the result of faith are our battle-ax and weapons of war.”
Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest. (John 4:35)
On our headstones, it shows our birthday and the day of our death. The important part is what happens between those two dates. We are to live our lives to the glory of God.
Don’t waste your dash.

Gene is faithfully going out in the evening to Pitt to share the gospel with students. Even in the cold. The students love to stop and take the IQ test. He has the same students stop and talk to him several times. These two talk to Gene about God. They both have a different version of God. Gene gave the gospel and truth gently.

Jen has been joining Gene in the evenings at Pitt. It is a great time to talk to the students since many are coming and going from eating dinner and they are ready to have a nice conversation. Pray for everyone that heard the gospel this month,
