Students enjoying fellowship

As our spring semester comes to a close and summer break approaches, I find myself both grateful and expectant for what the Lord continues to do.

While we will not be meeting in person over the summer, our time together is far from over. We will continue to gather as a group via Zoom, staying rooted in God’s Word and in fellowship with one another. Our student leadership team will also be training throughout the summer, preparing for the upcoming fall semester and all that God has in store.

Our New Believers Bible Study will continue weekly on Fridays via Zoom, and our Apologetics Study will meet biweekly as we press on in learning how to stand firm and give a reason for the hope that is within us.

It has been a wonderful spring semester. By God’s grace, a significant amount of material was distributed across campus—Bibles, New Testaments, and gospel resources—all pointing students to Christ. Seeds have been planted, conversations have been had, and the truth of God’s Word has gone forth.

This summer, I will also be joining another ministry in Raleigh for several outreach opportunities. I am thankful for the continued open doors to proclaim the gospel and engage with people who need to hear the truth.

And the fruit—only God can do what we are seeing. Two of our Bible study students are desiring to be baptized this summer. One young woman has come out of Islam and is now walking with Christ. God amazes me—the way He calls His people, even those who did not yet know they were His.

Please continue to pray:

* For boldness in sharing the gospel
* For hearts to be softened and drawn to Christ
* For our students as they grow in their faith
* For the upcoming fall semester, that the Lord would prepare the way

Thank you for standing with us, praying, and supporting this work. None of this happens apart from the Lord, and we give Him all the glory.

During the Month of April, I started a conversation with a student named London. I started our conversation by asking her, “what is the most important day of your life?” Ultimately, we got to the answer being the day she dies. London believes in the afterlife. More specifically, she believes in Heaven. I asked her, “what do you do to get to Heaven?” She responded with the usual answers we who evangelize regularly hear. Be a good person, just do your best. I went through the commandments with her and shared the gospel. I told her plainly that it is not our being a good person that gets us to Heaven. I urged her to repent and I explained what repentance is and told her it’s only by trusting in what Jesus did that gets us to Heaven. I told her she needs to trust in Him shedding His blood on the cross, dying, being buried, and Him rising from the grave and defeating death as her only way to Heaven. I told her if she does that, she will have God’s promise she will go to Heaven when she dies and that God is the God who cannot lie according to the Bible. We also talked about the brevity of life and though she is young her life on earth could be over any second and she will be in eternity. I shared James 4:14 with her where Scripture says our life is like a vapor. London was very open to the gospel. I asked her before we parted ways, when she would repent and trust in Jesus. I told her no pressure from me, that I wanted her to be honest. London said she doesn’t know when she will repent and trust in Christ but she believes she will have faith soon. London had a question for me about doubts and how to deal with those. I told her she can look into apologetics and test the claims the Bible makes and told her of a ministry that she could look up on YouTube and start watching videos. I also encouraged her to get into a Bible study and a good church.

I had a conversation with a student named Jared. I took him through the 10 commandments and shared the gospel with him. Jared told me he is searching for the truth. Jared expressed interest in joining me for a Bible study, and we exchanged numbers. I gave him a copy of “What Time is Purple?”

During April, I handed out numerous copies of “What time is purple,” and million dollar bill tracts.

I also have seen Maddox and Wally again, who I shared with last month and have been able to talk to them some more and build more of a relationship with them.

We are and will continue our Friday night outreaches over the summer. Last week, I encountered 3 homeless men who asked for prayer. Please pray for these men: Billy,Taz, and Guy. Billy actually gave some money to put in our church offering, even though he was homeless. I didn’t want to take it, but he insisted. Taz is a deceived man who believes in a higher power, and all roads lead to God. He also wanted me to agree that we serve the same God. When I would not agree, telling him Jesus is the only way to God (John 14:6), he got angry and walked away. Finally, pray for Guy. Not only is he homeless, but his wife and kids are living in a shelter. Guy was still trusting God for a favorable outcome. He said I’m homeless, but not hopeless. I responded, Praise God for that!
Cliff and I are encouraged, looking forward to what’s ahead for Mc3 as the school year wraps up and summer begins. This semester has had its ups and downs. We were disappointed that we couldn’t hold an official Bible study on campus, but we did build a good relationship with the college administration, and they’ve given us permission to be on campus to get ready for the fall. The best part is that we already have students interested in joining us, and we’ve been talking with them. Please pray that we can keep in touch with these students over the summer so we can start the fall semester strong!

Tim and Brian have been joining each other at their different colleges to encourage each other and fellowship while sharing the gospel.
