Witnessing and Bible Study

CCN is all about the great commission. We go onto the college campuses and share the gospel and then we invite the students to Bible Study and teach them to be Christians. Above you can see Gene sharing the gospel on a Wednesday night. Each Wednesday night he teaches Bible Study as well.

Mary writes to us:  Proverbs 30:5, tells us that every word of God proves true, meaning that God’s word is pure and refined. The word of God refines the people of God, but the people of God must never try to refine God’s word into something it is not. J. C Rile said,” If we cannot understand, or reconcile some parts of the contents of the Bible, the fault is in the interpreter and not in the text”

In Bible study at East Carolina University this year we are discussing evolution. We are diving deep into the book of Genesis to see the foundations that God laid at the beginning, and that he holds all things together and maintains them.

This has been an exciting month since two students have brought guests to our Bible study. The exciting thing is they’re coming back and they’re interested, they have questions and want to know more. God‘s word is true, and it proves true.

Though we may not understand all of the natural processes God set in place. His word does explain them. The theory of evolution, Darwinian evolution, has done great damage to many people, it is a direct attack against the gospel. through Darwinian evolution, great ages of time must take place in order for the variety that we see on this planet to exist. Darwinian evolution says that life came from non-life. However, God says in the beginning, I Am, the self-existing creator brought about all that exists. He set the laws of physics in motion to maintain all that exists. We must have a lawgiver in order to have a law.
In the book of John chapter 1:1-3, we were told that in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and all things came into being by Him. All things exist by the power of Christ, and He holds all things together by his power. Isaiah 33:22 tells us that the Lord is a lawgiver, Judge, king, and Savior.
In the book of Colossians, chapter 1:15- 16, tells us for by him, Jesus, all things were created, both in the heavens, and on the Earth, visible and visible, whether thrones, or dominion, or rulers, or authorities, all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him, all things hold together.

Long ages of time are a direct assault against the gospel since death entered the world because of sin. Millions of years of death, eliminate the gospel. The Bible tells us quite the opposite when Adam sinned death entered the world.

Please pray for our Bible study at ECU. Please pray that we will stand on the truths of God’s word, and not compromise to fit in with the culture.

Andre writes to us:  At this year’s 2nd Repent & Witness outreach at Ocean City Maryland, I had the pleasure of meeting this family. They stopped to take the I.Q. and the Good Person test. We had a lot of fun doing the I.Q. test.

The best part for me was going through the good person test. It was refreshing to find out this family was, as much as much as I could tell, soundly saved. The answers from the kids and parents were Biblically sound.
What stood out most to me was their understanding of God’s love and grace. The joy they had in their salvation and the fun they had was refreshing for me to see. I thank God for that encounter, and I pray they continue to serve God with the joy they displayed.

Our goal is to always share the gospel with the students. We want to have good conversations with the students and make sure they understand the gospel. We want to do it in a way that they are willing to continue the conversation in a Bible Study setting. Pray for all the students who heard the gospel and for those students who are attending Bible Studies this semester.
