Delivering Some Much Needed Good News

It has been a difficult time over the past several months. With many of our college campuses having gone virtual since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak our regular “fishing holes” have quickly dried up. However, during this time CCN Campus Leaders have made the most of this opportunity in practicing new and creative ways to ensure the continued spread of the gospel (view previous month’s newsletter here).

And now, as the quarantine begins to wind down and as cities and states are slowly lifting restrictions on local businesses and even churches, several CCN Campus Leaders have started hitting the streets once more to deliver some much needed good news to a sick and dying world.

Shot of Planned Parenthood building in downtown Pittsburgh

Despite many businesses having been deemed “non-essential” during the pandemic to include local churches, remarkably Planned Parenthood had been allowed to remain open and continue its ongoing destruction of human lives. Needless to say, this was one of the first stops for CCN President Jenifer as she made her way back to evangelizing in the downtown area of Pittsburgh. During which time Jenifer encountered a homeless man whom she witnessed to and who had just enough money to buy food but did not have any left for a mask. So, Jenifer did what any good neighbor would do and gave him one. But she soon realized that she would need more for herself in order to continue with her outreach. Improvising, Jenifer used some disposable T-shirts she had on hand to make some more so that would help in her mission proclaiming the gospel.

CCN Bible Study invite with Tom & Tom

Over to the west in Texas, Campus Leaders Tom McLaughlin and Thomas Foster collaborated for a weekly Bible Study which focused on the topic of evangelism training and featured a new special guest each week. For more information or to join their weekly Zoom meetings visit the Events page to connect with Tom and Thomas.

Back in Pottstown, PA Campus Leaders Andre Goff and Clifford Fulwood along with protege Garrett Hardy have been spending time together conducting “street evangelism” which includes open-air preaching and one-to-one witnessing. Open-air preaching is an effective form of evangelism designed to reach a larger audience with the gospel and all at once.
