Hebrew Israelites
Hebrew Israelites believe that only people of color go to heaven and everyone else will either end up in hell or serving them. There are several different factions and they each believe different things. 1West is the one you are likely to run into. When they share a verse with you go to that verse and look at it in context. Make sure if they are taking the verse literally that they take all the verses around them literally. They tend to pick and choose. Remember to keep going back to the gospel. It is the gospel that saves. Here are some ESV verses and explanations that might help you.
God will save many kinds of people not just the Jews.
Gal 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. “
Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” “
Matthew 28:19-20 “ Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Rom 11:11-12 “So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12 Now
if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!”
Rev 7:9-10 “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” “
Rev 5:9 ““Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation,”
We are saved by faith not by being Jewish
Rom 4:13 ” For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.”
Rom 2:29 “But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.”
Who are the gentiles?
“The word Gentile is derived from the Latin word “gens” which refers to a family or clan. Generally, when we see the word Gentile we should think about non-Jews because in the Greek the word Gentiles is “ethnos” or nations. To be a Gentile is to be someone who is not Jewish. When the word Gentile appears in the Old Testament it is from the Hebrew word “goy” which means the same thing as the Greek word does; nation or nations, depending upon whether the singular or plural is being used. Actually the word Gentile that appears in the Old and New Testament is somewhat of a mistranslation because it is either “goy” (in the Old Testament) or “ethnos” (in the New Testament) and refers to any ethnic group, people group, family, or nation that is not from the 12 tribes of Israel or is not Jewish.” (https://www.whatchristianswanttoknow.com/who-are-the-gentiles-a-bible-study/)
They will claim that they are Jewish and were bought and sold and the proof is in Deu 28:68
Deu 28:68 ” And the Lord will bring you back in ships to Egypt, a journey that I promised that
you should never make again; and there you shall offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but there will be no buyer.””
You will want to point out that in context this is about what would happen if the Jews disobey. The beginning of 28 talks about the blessings if the Jews obey. You will want to ask them when did you offer yourselves as slaves and no one wanted to buy you? When did you go back to Egypt? They will tell you Egypt is not a literal place. You can ask them how they know it is a literal ship? Ask what siege were you in? Verse 53 says there is a siege.
Why was Paul mistaken for being Egyptian? He was thought to be a Jewish man that went to Egypt to raise an army and start trouble.
Was Moses mistaken for being Egyptian? Moses would have had the clothing of an Egyptian and the language of an Egyptian.
Ex 2:19 “They said, “An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds and even drew water for us and watered the flock.””
Ex 2:6 ” When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby was crying. She took pity on him and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.””
You can see that the woman that took Moses out of the water knew he was a Hebrew child.
Enslaved in USA for 400 years they show Acts 7:6 and Genesis 15:13–15.
Acts 7:6 ” And God spoke to this effect—that his offspring would be sojourners in a land belonging to others, who would enslave them and afflict them four hundred years.”
Genesis 15:13–15 “Then the Lord said to Abram, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years. 14 But I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions. 15 As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age.”
If you look at the verses in context you will see this is the 400 years the Jews were in Egypt and Moses brought them out of Egypt.
God chose a people Deu 7:6
Deu 7:6 ” “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.”
Egypt has a Spiritual meaning. It does have a spiritual meaning in the verse below because of context but that does not mean it always has a spiritual context. Here it says the Bible is using it symbolically. There are tons of verses that talk about a literal Egypt.
Rev 9:11 ” and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.”
Deu 28:30,32,41 shows that African Americans are the lost tribe of Judah. However, these things happened to those that were in Jerusalem in 70AD. Considering Deu 28:52-57 describe what happened in 70 AD of the Jews eating their kids I would say these verses also are dealing with 70 AD.
The Jews were called and they ignored and disobeyed so God went to the highways and byways to call others to come in.
Matt 22:3 “to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.”
Paul yells at Peter for separation of the Jews and Gentiles.
Gal 2:11-14 “But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party.[a] 13 And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy. 14 But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, “If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?””
By faith the Prostitute was saved and she is likened to the heroes of the faith.
Hebrews 11:31 “By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.”
