The Real Jesus

There is only one Jesus that can save you.  Many have made up idols that are acceptable to them.  These made up Jesus’ will not save anyone.

1 John 2:23 “No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.”

worshiped

called God

the ONLY way to God

did not come to bring peace, but a sword

tells us that the world will hate us

  • John 15:18-19 ” “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”
  • John 17:14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

tells us Christians can expect to suffer

  • Matt 5:45 ” so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
  • John 16:33 ” I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.””
  • Heb. 11:35-38 “Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life. 36 Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword.   • 1 Pet. 4:12 “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.”
  • 1 John 3:13 “Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you.”

commands us share the gospel

  • Matt.28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””

  • Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.””
